• Posted ticket earlier but never got any response. This is now a big issue in lots of our websites.

Any particular reason you are not?clearing the ecommerce object?prio to firing ecom events?

In the linked URL we now have “view_item” events which include all product ID’s from the “view_item_list” events. This is unwanted obviously, clearing the ecommerce object should fix this.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I have the same problem, the ecommerce object is not flushed. Observing, however, the data passed by the Analytics Tag, only the last pushed element is passed as data (correctly). However if you want to use the data contained in the ecommerce object they are incorrect. Am I wrong?

I was unclear earlier. I was talking about Google Ads.

Because yet, Google Analytics is smart like that. But Google Ads is not. I just pulls alls data available in the dataLayer, you can also see that here. As you see this is a view_item event and that contains only 1 product. However some ms seconds earlier view_item_list was also pushed (for related products) and Google Ads just pulls all id’s in the view_item event.

There is a fix for this, which is to clear the dataLayer prior to each new push, which is what I was talking about.

This is an issue for a LOT of sites; not sure why this is not addressed honestly.
