The site works fine, but when I clear the cache once per week, the server goes down until the new cache is built for all posts.

It is possible to clear the cache, for example each page at X days or in parts to avoid server downtime?

  • Sorry I’m not member of the support team but just wondering why you purge all caches per week?

W3TC is purging the cache for every pages/posts seperately when posts are created, edited, or comments posted.

Default settings which provided by W3TC should work fine:
    Ekran-Resmi-2018-11-26-17-50-37

Additionally If you purge all caches, this can increase your server load. Do ”purge all” if you really need this. Not per week or per month.

    Hello,

    Thank you @kocakserdar7.
Just to add, you can use cache Preload to set the interval of new caches to be created and also you can use “Garbage collection interval” which If caching to disk, specify how frequently expired cache data is removed. For busy sites, a lower value is best.

Hi the default settings do not help me at the moment: I schedule my daily posts. For example when I schedule a post to publish at 6 oclock in the morning, it isn’t visible on my website at 6 oclock in the morning. Because it isn’t visible I clear/purge cache everyday manually.

I like my daily posts to be visible for visitors, so I like the cache to be emptied/purged when a post is scheduled/published. How?

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hello,

You can use cache preload setting is Performance>Page Cache. Set the update interval, the number of seconds to wait before creating another set of cached pages.
Also, make sure that “Preload the post cache upon publishing events” is selected.

    (Why did someone echo me?)

Thanks Marko! I am a beginner when it come to cache plugins. The update interval is set at 900 seconds. Is this ok for daily posts that are daily published?

And do I need to select “automatically prime the page cache”?
The pages per interval is set on 10.

    Thanks a lot!
