    Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to assist you with this.
    There is nothing to fix. When the page is cached, it’s cached in the /cache/page_enhanced/ yourwebsite.com folder and subfolders. Once the cache is purged, this does not mean that those files/folders are deleted. This would have a negative impact on the performance and potentially be impacting the server.
    This is why when the cache is purged, the folders remain, and the files within those folders are renamed and added the _old extension.

    This is where the Garbage collection interval kicks in (default value is 3600s) and deletes the _old files after a period set in the settings.

    I hope this clarifies the workflow of the W3TC Page Cache.
