I have been toying around with your plugin, and I notice it doesn’t clean up upon uninstall where you should offer to delete your data instead of just leaving it behind.

  • Hi,
The config are deleted on uninstall (not on deactivate) but the glossary post type is untouched.
It is a common behaviour in plugins to not delete the post type items to let people recover them or just switch to another one that use the same, like our support for CM Tooltips as we share the same post type (but with different settings).

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, it may be common behaviour to leave data behind. That is “common behavior to unnecessarily bloat the database”.

Good behavior is to offer a checkbox somewhere to leave the choice.

I know, I agree with the blot database stuff but is a common wordpress behaviour and WP itself doesn’t offer anything during uninstall like a popup.

A checkbox is not a bad idea I will add in our Ideas queue.

One plugin that comes to my mind has the checkbox in the general settings, un-checked by default, with a text like “Should data be deleted upon uninstall”.

Another has a button “Delete data and uninstall”, separate from the standard uninstall link in WP.

I guess there are more possible solutions.

    Thanks for your consideration.
