Cleantalk is flagging these files. Can you please explain why and should there be changes made to this plugin?

These files may not contain malicious code but they use very dangerous PHP functions and constructions! PHP developers don’t recommend to use it and it looks very suspicious.

  • Hello @wynot ,

We would like to gather more information regarding the files you mentioned, as they do not correspond to the usual plugin directory structure.

Typically, the standard plugin directory is located at: wp-content/plugins/malcare-security/. However, you have reported files within a different directory: wp-content/upgrade/malcare-security/malcare-security/. Our plugin does not create such a directory, which raises concerns about its authenticity.

To investigate further, we kindly request you to provide us with the contents of these files.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to your response.

    Regards,
    Sweta

Ok, Maybe cleantalk ran the scan while I was updating plugin? Because now the files are no longer there?

We can close this for now… If it comes back again I will log another support request. Thank YOU for your response!
