CleanTalk and Wordfence

I installed CleanTalk about 2 weeks ago and I had no issues during the 7 day trial period. After 7 days I purchased the Basic package. I also run Akismet and Wordfence on my site. I have always used Wordfence with no issues. Akismet was installed from anti-spam but it does not block contact form spam for my website builder, which is why I installed CleanTalk. Within 24 hours of activating the paid package for CleanTalk, I started getting emails from Wordfence about brute force attacks (over 80,000) on my site. Eventually I was locked out of the site. When I regained access, I disabled Wordfence and CleanTalk and I had to restore my site because all the formatting had disappeared. I have since re-activated Wordfence and am not having any problems. I have not re-activated CleanTalk because it appears that is what was causing the problem. Can you provide any insight or help?
