How to clean visits log? Let’s say for one affiliate or all? It grows rapidly and I’m afraid it will eventually kill my database performance.

Also I think when I delete affiliate Visits for him should be also deleted.

    Hey @wjtk,

Thank you for reaching out with this message. Currently there’s no way of deleting visits from the database, however, we’re looking at some ways of doing this in the near future.

One idea is to have a visits cleaner that automatically deletes visits older than 2 months let’s say (or another timespan set by the admin). Would this be something you’d be interested in? Or are you just looking to have visits from certain affiliates removed?

As for deleting visits when deleting an affiliate, this is also on the development list. When deleting an affiliate we’ll have a separate screen where you’ll be able to check what data is removed for the affiliate (visits, commissions, payments or other data).

Just as a reassurance, we’ve tested the plugin with hundreds of thousands of records to see how it works and have found no breaking issues. For the foreseeable future your database should work normally. If you’re seeing any issues, please let us know.

However, we want to improve things going forward, so your feedback is much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Mihai

These both would be a nice improvement. Time period should be customizable.

In the meantime could you point me to table where visits are stored? I’d like to clean it manually.

Thank you for getting back to me with your thoughts @wjtk! We’ll look into these aspects and see which option would be the easiest for admins to use.

Also, the database table you should be looking for is named: {prefix}slicewp_visits. The default {prefix} is “wp_”, making the table’s name “wp_slicewp_visits”, however you may have another prefix.

Let me know if you have any other questions, or if you have any feature requests. We’re happy to hear from our users.

    Cheers,
    Mihai
