clean urls

  • is there anyway at the moment to hack in clean urls atm? id be very interested to hack it untill an official version comes out.

  • Right now I just have a mod_rewrite combined with hacking the template tags a little bit. My old instructions for doing this are here but they should be almost exactly applicable to WordPress. If you use links in the style of domain.com/archives/123 where “archives” can be any word and 123 is the ID of the post then they will be natively supported in a future version.

    any chance this could be updated for the latest version of wordpress…i just tried to follow it for the latest CVS and it’s gone pear-shaped… ??

    At the moment we’re mostly working on stamping out bugs for the impending 0.7.2 release. Once that version is stabilized, we can start putting the new stuff in. Matt described his vision for configurable clean urls on the developer’s list, and it sounds very exciting.
