Clean URL with no permalink

Hi support and anyone who can help me,

This is the deal, cooked urls have that outdated permalink “category” url type that′s only purpose is to “organize” your site. I mean yoursite.com/recipe/recipe-name

Well, what I want is to have a clean url, that hangs from the root, like mysite.com/recipe-name but I can′t find a way to do it. If you have any insights on how to change this, I will most appreciate it.
