    Hi,

I have been working on a new website modifying, publishing & exporting it several times for testing and the site is now almost ready to be imported on the dedicated server.

    I have one question :

-Should I clean the database of the the new site before importing it (because of the numerous changes I made in the past)? Is it risky? What kind of cleaning should I think of?

    thanks for your time!

    Hi @desmetsbertrand,

    Thank you for your message.

You can install the plugin and have a look at the orphaned items being reported in the main page “General cleanup”. If there are very few ones, then no need to run a cleanup. If there are so many orphaned items, then you can proceed to a cleanup.

If you have installed/uninstalled a lot of plugins/themes for the test, some orphaned options may remain in your database. You can have a look at your options table to see if you can recognize some of them and delete them.

Cleaning up a database should be done carefully, make sure to always backup your database before deleting anything. In case something went wrong, you have the original database backup.

    Best regards,
    Younes
