• I’ve been using TinyMCE Advanced and loving it. It works flawlessly in the classic editor. In the Gutenberg editor, however, I notice that classic paragraph blocks don’t reflect the changes I’ve made through the plugin (no added buttons, no editor menu, no third-party buttons). I’ve cleared every conceivable cache. I’ve gone back to default and then made the changes again. Still nothing.

While poking around, I did notice an odd exception. If I start a new post using the WPBakery Page Builder (Which now has a Gutenberg block element) and add that Gutenberg editor, the preferences I’ve set up in the plugin are all reflected. Definitely weird!

(And yes, I also tried disabling the page builder plugin to see if that was causing a problem. That made no difference.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hmmm, this is most likely caused by another plugin. By default the changes you make to the toolbars for the Classic block and the Classic Paragraph block are always applied on initialization of the editor in these blocks. These changes use the same WP actions and filters like the classic editor, just apply the settings you’ve chosen for the blocks.

It seems a plugin is resetting the toolbars to the defaults after TinyMCE Advanced has added the changed buttons. If that’s not the page builder, I’m afraid the only option would be to try disabling plugins one by one and clear browser cache and test until you find the plugin that’s doing it.
