• I’m having a bit of a problem caused by initially selecting ‘universal’ when I setup GA. I discovered (after a bit of frustration), that I needed ‘classic’ tracking to get it working with GA for WP plugin. (It might be a good idea to add this to the install notes or FAQ!)

So, I added another profile setup as classic, and started the tracking. So far, so good… the ‘universal’ profile dropped to zero, and the ‘classic’ started showing results (after about a day). I figured I’d fixed things.

However, after about a week, traffic started showing up under the ‘universal’ profile as well. I now have traffic in both profiles for some reason. GA for WP is only set to one of the profiles. I looked for a way to delete the ‘universal’ profile, but can’t find a way.

I guess this is more a GA issue, than a GA for WordPress one… but any hints on how to proceed? Is my traffic really being split between the two somehow?

One thing to note, is that I did move my site to a new host when I setup GA and GA for WordPress, so the plugin is installed at the ‘old’ site and the current one. But, I don’t see why any traffic would suddenly find a way to get to the old one after a week. My domain name is pointed at the new. I guess I can pull the old one down and see what effect that has. Either way, I’d kind of like to get rid of the ‘universal’ profile if anyone knows how.

The old site has been totally pulled, but the problem continues. I don’t understand how traffic is still getting measured by the Universal profile, as the tracking code exists nowhere on the site. Anyone have any ideas or in a similar situation? Thanks.
