• I have actually been building all of my new sites using the block editor (yes, people, give it a try!), but recently took maintenance over on a site that I need to use classic editor and text tab so I just installed the classic editor plugin version 1.6 on WordPress 5.5.

You cannot toggle to the text tab.

Another reviewer stated it was linked to version 5.5 but I downgraded to my last backup 5.4.2 and it doesn’t work on that version either. I also downloaded Classic Editor version 1.5 and that’s not working either, so I have no idea what is happening.

    This site runs Genesis framework.

Found out that the Yoast SEO Premium plugin was causing the issue w/ the classic editor. Deactivated and classic editor working normally.

I found that there was a problem with Arconix FAQ. When I deactivated it, I got my Text tab back!

    Hello!
Since WP Update 5.5 on August 11th the buttons of the Classic Editor Plugin don’t response anymore

What make you think, that to deactivate Yoast Seo Premium plugin you paid for, is a good solution to fix a bug that the Classic Editor plugin have?

I been using Yoast Seo (free version) for over 5 years now. The Classic Editor plugin is causing the problem! Properly because Yoast Seo is running now on Gutenberg too.
