    Hi Christian!

I just came across your plugin and am so excited!

Was about to do a minor upgrade, and saw that the plugin can help.

    The plugin says:
“Upgrade CiviCRM Click this to upgrade CiviCRM.
Please note: you need to update the CiviCRM plugin folder first.”

Having manually done this upgrade a number of times – (which is a headache, and scares me…), I’m not sure what ‘update the civiCRM plugin folder first’ means. Normally to complete an upgrade – I’m doing copies of some files, deleting the dir, unzipping into the dir, restoring files, restoring extensions, updating the db…

So, I didn’t see any hints as to what clicking that button will and won’t do. So, before I push it, I figured I’d ask, and keep myself out of trouble.

Thanks, and have a great weekend!

@clarkhodge That’s really just a link to the CiviCRM Upgrade screen – it doesn’t do anything of itself. (I’m forgetful, so I like having a link to it) You have to replace the CiviCRM plugin folder with the latest before following it. I’d recommend using the checkbox to clear the cache before you follow the link.

@clarkhodge I wish there were a true shortcut that this plugin could provide, but sadly not. You’ll still have to do your tiresome routine beforehand.

@needle Bummer, but… everything else looks great.
Just finished my upgrade to 5.28.2. I was so hoping that your button was going to do all those little pain in the butt things. I’m always nervous about it, and then generally skip a bunch of upgrades, because of the hassle factor.

Not sure of the tech reason why this process is so difficult. Seems (IMHO), that even if you can’t do it from the WP side, that there’d be a unix script that could run and do at least all the little house-keeping stuff in one cmd. Makes me want to go to coding school… Um, well maybe not that bad, but…

Thanks again, and have a great wknd.
