Hi Scott, quick question on latest Stripe Connect changes. Is Connect optional? It appears the form is still linked by the manual API key configuration, however, I just wanted to be sure. I understand some people may want the ease of setup, but my charity clients are rather more concerned about the 2% extra fee.

    Thanks, Andy

    Hi @andywebguy,

For those who have already setup API keys, the plugin will continue to work and charge no fee. However, you will no longer be able to edit your API keys.

If you want to edit your API keys or setup a new site, you will need to use Stripe Connect.

You can read more about this change here: https://wpplugin.org/documentation/stripe-connect/ – but basically using Stripe Connect really helps with security and Stripe wants users to use it. So we made the decision to switch over to it.

I’d also like to add that the Pro version does not have the 2% fee. We do offer charity discounts for the Pro version, please contact us about that here (https://wpplugin.org/contact/support-question/#form) if you are interested.

I hope that helps, if not just let me know.

    Thanks,
    Scott
