Circle Opacity

I have now made the Circles darker using jpegs as featured images.
The jpegs are just gray backgrounds with the titles of the posts.

I still need to make the widget button and footer darker.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Download and install this Custom CSS Manager plugin and in its allocated section of the dashboard, enter this;

#colophon a {
 color: #999;
}

I did that but the widget button and footer are still barely visible.
