Church Theme Header Image still broken

The Church Child Theme of Omega is still broken a month after a serious issue cropped up. The featured image set in each post hijacks and replaces the header image that is supposed to appear throughout the site.
The author has not fixed the issue and people are still posting asking for a fix. Author has not responded in over a month. Looks like the author has perhaps fixed the same issue for some of his other child themes, but the Church theme remains broken.
