• There are many, many themes available on several websites. Trying to choose the right one is overwhelming. It is hard to know if one is good for your needs unless you actually install and use the thing. Ypu would need to test several good fits to find the BEST fit. This would be very time consuming, and it would be very expensive if you want to try different Premium themes. So my questing is 3-fold:

    1. Do premium themes allow trials before purchasing?

    2. Are there any techniques, tricks, guidelines or suggestions for efficiently finding the best theme for a particular need.

    3. Does anybody have recommendations for themes (and plugins) for a site that sells tours, activities and transportation in a specific country, with a dozen destinations and dozens of activities, tours, and hotels in each destination. I sell my tour and my transportation service, and I sell other companies’ tours, transportation and lodging as an agent. I also want the site to be content rich like a guide book. Any suggestions for themes and plugins?

  • Hi junglejamjohn,

1.) Usually not, but sometimes there are free versions with limited functionalities available or some premium theme shops also refund the money if you are not happy with the theme.

2.) That is really hard to answer because it always depends on your requirements and taste. But if you like a theme, you can Google e.g. for reviews and see what other users say about it.

3.) You can search e.g. for “Travel” themes and if you need shopping functionality, it would be good if the theme supports plugins like e.g. WooCommerce. But this also depends on your current setup and your requirements in detail.

I recommend, if you have found a theme which you like, just contact the theme developer and send him all your requirements. He will be able to tell you if the theme is suitable or not.

    Kind regards
    Michael

To go along with what MH Themes said, it is generally best to find a free theme first. Here’s an article on finding free themes.
