Choose-Your-Own-Adventure section of WP site

    I’m transferring a flat HTML site over to a WP installation and I hit something that’s a little tricky.

    I couldn’t find a plug-in that addresses this, so maybe someone has some ideas.

    The flat site includes a sort of “choose your own adventure” game, where you answer questions, click links, and follow a short narrative, eventually getting to the end of the story. This is built using approximately 180 HTML pages.

    How might one accomplish this in a WP environment?

    I don’t want to build 180 pages, necessarily, and if I HAD to, I don’t want them showing up in any menu (because you’re supposed to follow the pages as you follow the story and make choices).

    Is there a plug-in that maybe does this, or am I going to have to locate/write a server-side tool for this, or am I just boned?

    Why not think of the ‘choose your own adventure’ as a sort of survey or questionnaire with branching logic?

    There are many survey, polling and questionnaire plug-ins for WordPress. Doing things this way would allow you to collect information about the choices that visitors make, which may be useful to you.

    That would be my last resort. Adding 180 pages might be… onerous.

    Ahhhh, that is a very clever way to do it. I must review those plug-ins…

    The game itself is just a goof-around, but I’m intrigued by this. Thanks!
