Choose result page for filter for security

  • Hi Andrea,

    Issue Security 1:

    By defaul the plugin choosed “Member page” as result page, which i can’t hidden “member page”

    Reason: If i allow member page, someone can come and get all of my website member data, so i must be hidden it.

    SO solution 1: How do i choose another page as result page
    OR solution 1: How to hide all member in member page? Leaved max 20 random members, all another is hidden.

    Issue security 2:
    After hidden success in issue 1, hacker still available view all member by search (Leaved all option is blank, hit search) –> Then will all website member list.
    SO how to make the list only appear maxium RANDOM 60 members? (20members/page = 3 page)

    Hi @thedream09,

    I think I understand your concerns, but unfortunately BP Profile Search is not equipped to handle them. As you correctly noted, the default BuddyPress installation shows all the existing members, and BP Profile Search follows the same approach.

    Hi Andrea,

    1) So can you simple. Allow choose “another page as result” page?
    Not forced use “member buddypress page”

    2) Can you set number limited in result to 100 or 60 for radom for each search query?

    Hello @thedream09,

    1) You can use any custom directory as the results page, see my tutorial Custom Directories, but that would still be a directory, showing all your members;

    2) The current BP Profile Search version shows all the results, there is no option to limit the number of results at this moment.
