• I’m using your great plugin to sort default “tags” alphabetically, that works great on the front end and in the Tags admin screen. But when adding a new event in The Events Calendar (which uses the default tags as well), the “choose from the most used tags” list now starts at the letter “F” and doesn’t show any of the popular tags from A-E.

Not sure if this is an issue with The Events Calendar (Pro) or with your plugin but I thought I’d post in case someone else had a similar issue.

    Thank you!

    Hi,
This even happened on the tag cloud for standard posts.

Version 3.4.0 is just released. The plugin now supports order by post count.

Can you confirm it works for you?

    Thanks for the fast response!
I have made the update in our staging site.

Unfortunately, “choose from the most used tags” is still starting from the letter “F”, when adding new events in the back end.

(When using the front-end submission form for events (Community Events add-on to TEC), the tags are showing up correctly, in alpha order, from A to Z.)

    Additional unexpected behaviour:
When editing/creating a regular post (not an event), the “most used” tags under the “add new tag” box are listed in reverse alpha order, starting at Z. These are definitely not most used, I confirmed from the tags admin screen.

    Aha, that is unfortunate.
Could it be you use Gutenberg, the new block editor?
I use the classic editor everywhere ??

Hmm, that plugin uses the classic editor as well. Not sure what is happening then.

Could you look into the Console and the network traffic for AJAX?
If you click on the “Show most used tags”, what is the request that is made? Here is see these two parameters being sent:

    action:	"get-tagcloud"
    tax:	"post_tag"

I don’t see anything like that in the network traffic – I’m looking under Network > Fetch/XHR tab > clicking on admin-ajax.php and looking at the Headers tab. Is there somewhere else I need to be looking?

The Request tab should have the parameters that were sent.
The ‘heartbeat’ can be ignored, that is just normal WordPress, it is about the one mentioned above.

    Hi again ??
I tested this on a clean install with just this plugin and the events calendar activated. It sorts that postbox for posts and events with most used tags based on count, as it is supposed to do.

In my standard test setup it displays them based on name. It even does that when no plugin is activated. I have no idea why that is happening.
