    Choice + Ad Inserter Plugin

    Blocking ads until consent a user has given consent. See the “How to show ads based on visitors’ consent?” section in their help documentation here. Showing you how to whitelist consent cookies such as the Google Advertising Products Cookie (euconsent-v2[vendor][consents][755]=1) and you also have to Make sure you have Dynamic blocks set to client-side insert – TCF v2.0 based cookie needs to be checked client-side (in the browser).

    * If you are still seeing 1.1 errors, you may also need to whitelist euconsent-v2[purpose][consents][1]=1 to check for Purpose one consent as well.

    Note: Ad Inserter has added some specific guidance related to Quantcast Choice on their help page, but any instructions pertaining to TCF v2.0 on should also be relevant for Quantcast Choice as we are a TCF v2.0 compliant CMP.

    Please make sure you have attempted to follow the blocking instructions provided by Ad Inserter (see above) before reporting Google 2.1a and 1.1 errors here.

  • Can i ask a question; Why we need to “hold” the google analytics code to avoid TCF 2. errors at adsence ?

    We are getting this error 1.1, other ones have dissapeared (2.1a), but don’t know how to solve it, maybe @rbaronqc can help us a bit, to see where we are missing configuration at our Quantcast account, as we added Google as vendor how we have being told in the past:

    1.1 Google, as a vendor, is not allowed under consent or legitimate interest. Confirm whether the user intentionally rejected Google as a vendor, CMP implementation errors have occurred, or there are publisher restrictions.

    @ibiza69 On August 15th Google (Advertising Products) joined the IAB and got an IAB vendor ID (755), I believe Google Analytics & Google Optimize are NOT considered part of Google Advertising Products and you would have to create a NON-IAB vendor for these specific use cases. But for Google Advertising Tags like Adsense, the Google consent needed is for the IAB Vendor ID 755. This is where/what Google is checking for when looking at Google Vendor Consent. 1.1 errors result when a Google Advertising Tag has been added to the page where IAB Vendor ID 755 (google) Does NOT have consent.

    If a user has not given Consent for IAB Vendor 755 or has not given consent for Purpose 1 (Store and/or access information on a device) It is recommenced that no Google tags be added to the site until both of these consents have been granted. Doing so with out waiting for consent will result in 2.1a or 1.1 errors.

    If you add a Google Advertising Tag to your website they will automatically check for consent by making a __tcfapi() call, but if it makes this call without Purpose 1 – Store and/or access information on a device consent being set, it has already violated consent (as the user has not given permission to access/read data from their device). As the name of purpose 1 implies it is the ability to read/access info from a device so you need to wait until this is true before adding Google Advertising Tags. The same is true for 1.1 errors. If a user has given Purpose 1 consent but not Google Advertising Products consent (vendor id 755) and a Google Advertising Tag is added to the page it will result in 1.1 errors and you the tag was added to the page even though the user did not give consent for Google Advertising Tags to be added to the page.

    As long as both of the above consents have been given (Purpose 1 & IAB Vendor 755) then you are free to add Google Advertise Tags to the site, but NOT before this. From here (assuming both consents have been granted by the user), Google (now that they have consent to read the signals) will read consent signals directly from the TCF v2 consent string and make decisions about the types of ads to server such as personalized vs non-personalized ads. If the site adds a Google Advertise Tag to the page without Purpose 1 consent Google will still read/attempt to read the consent string and if they don’t find purpose 1 consent granted there there you will get a 2.1a error and if they don’t find consent for IAB Vendor 755 you will get a 1.1 error.

    Are quantcast working fine with TCF v2.0 right now?

    Ad Inserter is working fine? How many time I need to see the error disappear.

    I activated them for 3 days and the errors will appeared with a different date.

    Good morning @rbaronqc, I tryed to underestand your answer, but don’t know where is the error in my configuration, the one I shared with you. As you know all our ads are being configured with Ad Inserter Pro plugin as we spoke in the past with plugin developer and you. We seem not to have any 2.1a errors again, but 1.1 error is always there. So I haven’t got clear, about all those permissions you tell me. I hope you underestand my question. In the past you said to ad Google as a Non-IAB Vendor and so we did, as we activated those purposes (the ones I shared with you in my screnshots). I can underestand a bit your explanation, but not what should I do to fix this. We have adsense ads, placed thru Ad Inserted as instructed, but 1.1 errors keep showing. Could you please check the configuration I shared with you yesterday and see If I have everything correct or what I could be missing? Thanks in advance, hopefully you help me to get to the goal.

    Good morning @sneesel, yes (using Ad Inserter Pro) the 2.1a errors dissapeared again, as happened in the last time, now we are waiting to see if after a few days without them, they appear again.

    What we are facing is an increase of 1.1 errors, but don’t know why or where they come from, the truth anguished…

    Hi everyone, I have been following this thread to fix my bugs. I am using Quantcast with Adinserter Pro 2.6.14
    My 2.1 errors are going down a few days ago and the “unknown” ones are going up.
