• Hey,

I have WordPress with Buddypress installed and I’m confused over the themes location.
Both Buddypress and WordPress have a themes folder and bot support child-themes. Now if I want to install a new theme like Twenty Ten Weaver Version 1.2.2, where do I put it?!

Twenty Ten Weaver Version 1.2.2 advertises itself as a child theme to Twenty Ten: “As implied by the name, Twenty Ten Weaver is a child theme of the new WordPress 3.0 default Twenty Ten theme.”

Now does this mean I have to put it in another folder then the other themes? And if I want to use it for my Buddypress enabled website, do I then have to install it in a special child-theme folder inside the Buddypress plugin folder?

Thnx for clearing up this confusion for me!

Just install it like any other theme, so the files will be at /wp-content/themes/2010-weaver/ . Better yet, just go to the Appearance section in your admin panel, click the “Install Themes” tab, search for “2010 Weaver” and install it from there.

As it is a child theme of Twenty Ten, it does require Twenty Ten to be installed.

I haven’t used child themes in BuddyPress, so I’m not sure. You should probably ask in the BuddyPress support forums.

Upload BuddyPress child theme in wp-content/themes/ folder as well.
FYI, there are at least two Twenty-ten themes ported to BuddyPress
