Child theme without PHP

    The purpose of a child theme is to modify a theme — usually that means PHP. What are you trying to accomplish?

    I have been reading about the necessity of having a child theme in case the original gets corrupted or changes have been made.
    Basically, I want to understand in creating a child’s theme.

    From what you say, you don’t need a child theme *unless* you are modifying the code of your theme.
