Child theme with unique header images

Is there a simple way to reuse previously uploaded parent theme header images in subsequent child themes? WIthout having to reload all the image files? I have made some very simple font changes in a child theme that work great, but I cannot figure out how to call the header image files I previously uploaded under the parent theme. The child theme reverts back to only the default, original parent theme header images.
