Child theme styles not loading any more

but you won’t see the child theme operating at the moment. I had to activate the parent theme back.

That’s not a child theme. Did you use this plugin to make a child theme?

what do you mean it’s not a child theme?
the theme that is activated at the moment is the parent theme but I have created and used before a child theme. I did not use a plugin to make it. I had created it manually by naming it themename-child and creating a style.css file inside it with the @import url commands.
I followed the wordress codex instructions. is this wrong? should I use a plugin?

We can only see the active theme so unless you activate the Child Theme we cannot attempt to debug why it isn’t working.

Can you try clearing your browser’s cache?

is it in FF or iE?
please see it in IE. for some reason in FF it takes it longer to update.

What is the issue you see, can you screenshot it and link us that?

In which Internet Explorer version are you seeing this?

Press F12 and check whether you’re not viewing the website in a different version of Internet Explorer, or even quirks mode.

it was in quirks mode!
what is it and why was it set like this??
and it’s not only on my computer that it’s like that.
