Child Theme requirement on www.remarpro.com

    Hi,

    I am brand new to www.remarpro.com, having ‘moved over’ from WordPress.com just yesterday. I am thinking about a Theme but am confused about Child Themes. I have selected Aplite which states that it is a child theme of Accesspress Lite.

    So can I use this theme or any of the other themes already there ( twentyfifteen etc) without creating a child theme or do I have to create a child theme by adding something to the css. I have read if you work on the original theme and there are updates they everything you have done will be lost and so this is why I want to address this questions.

    Sorry for what may appear like a very basic question but any advice would be very much appreciated.

    Hopefully to help other new users of www.remarpro.com to avoid spending hours watching Youtube videos that assume more knowledge than the viewer has (as I did!).

    The video below shows how to use a Plugin to create a Child Theme and it worked perfectly.
