Child Theme of Greenshift theme doesn’t support Greenshift Blocks
-
Hi:
I have used the Greenshift Theme on two sites now and am working on a third. In all three cases I started with the Greenshift Theme, then used the Create Block Theme plugin to create a Child Theme so that I could make some template changes, etc. However, I didn’t make the first child theme from the original Greenshift Theme – I made it from the Greenshift Theme AFTER having made some changes in the header and footer templates and in those templates I used a couple of Greenshift Plugin blocks.
The problem is, when I go in to work on the new child theme the first thing I see is that those Greenshift Plugin blocks are Unsupported (even though I have the Greenshift plugin loaded and activated. So I end up having to rebuild these template parts, which kind of defeats the purpose. The Greenshift plugin blocks work in the child theme when I replace them – the problem is they have to be replaced every time.
I posted about this in the Gutenberg forum and they said I should take it to the plugin developer…sigh. The native WordPress blocks ARE supported and don’t need to be put in again. So to summarize: when I make a child theme of Greenshift Theme, GreenShift – Animation and Page Builder Blocks are unsupported in template-parts that contain them and I have to put them in again, after which they’re fine in that child theme.
Pages that contain GreenShift blocks move from theme to child theme with no problem – as long as I have the plugin loaded and activated they show up with no error messages. It’s just in the template-parts that they’re unsupported.I don’t know if this is something you can replicate or remedy?
Thanks! The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
