    Hi,
I’ve created a child theme based on the 2012 theme and on my desktop build it looks like how I want it.

However when I zip the child theme and upload it, on the front page (https://www.javascriptunscripted.com/) the sidebar doesn’t float right as I intended and sits at the bottom of the posts. If you click on the single post it appears in the correct position.

I’ve made some minor edits to the php files to alter the layout. I’ve included the altered files and the template folder in the child theme’s folder before zipping but cannot figure out why on the front page the side bar is clearing to the bottom.

    Ok, now it’s working.

As far as I could see the changes I’d made in other php files that inserted the sidebar.php via a function was no where to be found in the index and i’d only included the files I manually changed (header, footer, single, functions, styles and the folder \page-templates) in the child theme’s folder and thought that should be all I needed.

But turns out I needed the index.php file as well. I’m not entirely clear on the order of files being used (will look it up later).
