Child theme not creating home page template?

Love this theme!! So simple yet awesome.

I am having an issue that occurred both times I’ve used this theme. Perhaps I’ve done something incorrectly. When I add the theme it shows a wizard for the home page setup on the themes page. I don’t want to set it up there because I use a child theme for all sites and that would usually be lost time. When I install the child theme, the wizard is gone and I don’t where it is. I’d like to see it! I’m sure its great. I have applied the homepage template to the designated static home page but it doesn’t show any of the sections. Has anyone reported anything similar that could help me? I might just be overlooking something simple.
