Child Theme Loading Slow & Sidebar Color Changed

    My Child Theme for the Hueman Theme seems to be loading slowly and the left sidebar on my site no longer appears to be the pale grey color (#f0f0f0).

    It appears fine when it’s not on the Child Theme, but whenever I switch to the Child version the grey color appears WHITE. Plus, for some reason all the data loads a few seconds slower in both the sidebar and main content section.

    Is there something I can do to fix it?

  • Does the child theme’s style.css contain all of the theme styles? It should only contain the extra styles you want, as the style.css from the parent theme is already included. So currently, all styles may load twice and some then break.

    You’re right. My mistake. My child theme stylesheet included all of the same styles from the parent theme in it as well. I uploaded a new stylesheet in the child theme including only a few lines of code with the changes that were made.

    So it’s working better now. Thanks for clarifying!
