Child Theme – "Deprecated since 3.4"

    Hey folks – we are way past WP version 3.4, but all of a sudden our site today has a pile of error messages displayed on the header, starting with:

    Notice: add_custom_background is deprecated since version 3.4!

    Looking at support forums I’m seeing that this is a nearly-three year old thread that hasn’t cropped up since…well, since version 3.4. Why would this suddenly start happening out of the blue, and what on earth can we tyro coders do to fix it?

    Changing the color back to a non”custom” background didn’t help, btw.

    Try switching to a default theme (twentyfifteen) to see if those errors go away.

    If so, you’ll need to ask StudioPress about your theme which is Outlook – it’s a child theme of Genesis – a commercial theme so StudioPress is the place to ask.
