Child css won't take text changes

Total newbie here. I’ve made a child of twentyeleven using Orbisius Child Theme Creator. Made changes to the child stylesheet to remove space above header and remove the search box from the menu and added an image to the footer by changing child footer.php. But when I try to make these changes

p {
margin-bottom: .5em;

/*Indent Paragraphs*/
p {
text-indent: 1.5em;
}

they aren’t applied. I’ve tried .entry-content p { and .entry-content {

Hope someone has a solution. Until this is fixed, I’m dead in the water.
