Checkout takes too long

Hi there, can somebody help me? Am just wondering if it’s my internet connection but the checkout process sometimes take so long after clicking the “Place Order” button. Sometimes we’d try to refresh or press the back button and that just doubles the order, however sometimes the order will not go through at all as well.
