Checkout opt-in group: two language versions

    Our site has two languages: Finnish and English. We would like to run two newsletters: Finnish and English. This is trivial, except that you cannot change the Woocommerce checkout Mailerlite Group for different language versions. Everyone who subscribes at checkout will go in one bucket. We are using Polylang for site translation.

    You COULD create a Mailerlite Group and filter by Country, but that does not seem to work, as there are many Finnish names landing in the US and UK country bucket. I assume people are using VPN:s that route via different countries or operating systems in these languages.

    It does not make sense to send English speakers a Finnish e-mail. Voin vakuuttaa ettet ymm?rr? siit? yht??n mit??n (I can assure you they won’t understand a single word of it).

    There would need to be a solution like this:
    Using English WordPress language at checkout -> English Mailerlite Group
    Using Finnish WordPress language at checkout -> Finnish Mailerlite Group

    Any solutions to this simple but paramount problem? This is holding us back for purchasing the paid version.

    Hi Otzify,

    We are preparing an update for this edge case. We are going to add a subscriber field with the shop language that was used when subscribed. You can then create a segment to separate the users by language.

    Great, I think this is even more appreciated in countries with multiple languages, such as Belgium or Switzerland.

    The latest version of the plugin includes a setting to pass a subscriber field with the language.
