  • I believe someone said this was template based…

“nice use of templatemonster…it looks a little off in IE, but very nice…looks like it might have been complicated to fit wordpress in…*thumbs up*”

“yeah i loved that design and thinks it works well for what i’m doing. it was a pain in the arse at first, but definately worth the trouble :)”

    my bad

    Thanks REvans, those are fixed.

Yeah it is based off a template. I don’t mind using templates every once in a while. They are very reasonably priced and you can get a full site for $50. Plus the flash is already done and with some minor changes you can have a completed site within minutes. I guess I look at it that it saves me time which in a sense saves money too:)

I see one thing in yours that bothered me before looking at the second site.. the lower right hand corner of the header has some extra “noise” that extends toward the bottom of the page. On your site, that area is broke in a straight edge. It makes the page look disjointed.

As for anything else — you bought a template for a site that you list under your portfolio, kudos? (truth in advertising is another topic)

are you implying that people who use templates to save time don’t do any work on the templates? the templates that i have used still take a lot of work to get just right. those who use templates “as is” can set them up pretty quickly. but there is still work that goes into it. templates just save me time in designing everything from scratch.

i’ll look into the noise you speak of though:)

i think it’s pretty smart what you are doing, and it looks good too.

    why thank you matt:)

i wasnt implying what you said, exactly, no. I do find it funny to see someone that advertises “We are a complete design team” using a purchased template though. That it is your site makes it seem less of an “issue” (for lack of a better word) though.

Like I said thats another topic though so I’ll drop it.
