Checkout error “State is not valid”

    I’m getting reports from users that when they try to check out, they get an error saying “State is not valid”, even when the state entered is valid (selected from the dropdown in the form). The website then displays a pop-up with a list of all valid states, which includes the one they selected.

    The error is intermittent, so I haven’t been able to reproduce it on my end.

    Have you received any similar reports? Is there a way I can check the error logs to diagnose the issue?

    This has been happening for 2–3 months now. I tried updating all plugins and deactivating any that might be affecting it, but I haven’t been able to figure it out.

    Hi @vpedrozo

    The Stripe plugin does not generate any messages like “State is not valid”. I would start be taking a look at whichever plugin you’re using to render the pop-up list of states.

    Is there a way I can check the error logs to diagnose the issue?

    There won’t be any Stripe error logs for this issue because it’s not originating from the Stripe plugin.
