• Last night, I received 8 emails (all in a space of 17 minutes), stating this:

    Subject: “PayPal Express Checkout Error Notification”

    Message:

    “SetExpressCheckout API call failed.

    Error Code:
    Error Severity Code:
    Short Error Message:
    Detailed Error Message: “

    I have received an order since then and the payment worked fine, so I’m not sure what’s going on as there was no error code provided in the above messages.

    Any thoughts please?

    Hmmm…it’s possible search engine crawlers could have been hitting those scripts somehow, but since no actual data was available it was triggering these blank errors.

    Can you check PHP error logs or general web server logs to see what was hitting the server at the time those error emails came through?
