Checking out the Plugin Repository

Hi, Just wondered if anyone else had attempted to checkout the entire Plugin repository to create a local copy. This is really useful for a number of reasons when developing Plugins. Probably the most important reason for me is being able to check how others are using functions that have not yet being fully documented. This can be invaluable when putting together new Plugins.

In his new book, ‘WordPress Plug-in Development’, Vladimir Prelovac explains how to checkout the entire repository using TortoiseSVN. I have tried this recently and it fails after about 14MB of data transferred.

I thought this was initially due to TortoiseSVN having a problem caching the large amount of data, but apparantly the transfer seems to fail on the same Plugin every time. Trying to checkout this Plugin alone (i.e. not the entire repository) also comes up with an error. So it seems there is a problem with the Plugin. The Plugins name is, mobilize-by-mippin-wordpress-plugin, and can be checked out of the repository at:

https://svn.wp-plugins.org/mobilize-by-mippin-wordpress-plugin

See if you can check it out, without errors.

So what, you may ask? Well, the problem is that this error halts the checkout process and stops the download of the entire repository.

I haven’t a huge amount of experience with TortoiseSVN, but does anyone else know how to get it to ignore this Plugin’s errors and go on continue rather than halting. Or perhaps some other ideas.
