    Hi Guys

I have set up Coupon Affiliates on behalf of a Website client of mine.

We generated several affiliate coupon codes for her team of five affiliates to provide to their referrals.

Over the last four months, we have had no orders from these links however one of the affiliates claims that they have sent several people to the website.

I checked throughout the CA dashboard and plugin menus to see if there was anything strange. Firstly, I did notice that the discounts that we created in the Woo Discounts Rules plug-in are treated as ‘coupons’ in Coupon Affiliates, so we have a long list of customers who have qualified for discounts, but they don’t have affiliate coupons attached.

Secondly, I found a list of orders under COUPON AFFILIATES > DASHBOARD > RECENT ACTIVITY that list ‘new order referral’ under the Event column.

I have added a link to a screenshot of this list. Does this mean that referrals have come thru?

    best regards
    Bren

    Hi guys

just a bit more information on the topic I started; the referral links that I have provided to the affiliates are formatted as per this test example below:

    https://magicelixirs.com.au/affiliates/?coupon=MagicTest

My assumption was that these links are provided to the referrals and when they click on the link, it opens up the Magic Elixirs site and they can go through the motions and add to cart. When they get to checkout, this code is applied automatically.

Instead, when the link is clicked, it sends me to a specific page. I have added as screenshot link as well.

    cheers
    Bren

PS: At the moment, my client wants to handle the codes differently to what your plug-in is designed for. Essentially, she just wants to use coupons without registering Affiliates. That’s the way she has always done it but I am working on getting the affiliates registered in the plugin so that we can generate a proper affiliate code which I think may be the issue with the link I provided.

    Hi @logozuu

    Thanks for the message.

Ideally you should create the referral links to point to your home page, or shop page for the website: https://magicelixirs.com.au/?coupon=MagicTest

I tested this link and it seems to save the 2 required cookies properly: https://i.gyazo.com/6bc8c796ad63533d2310ef9e44482831.png

I did however go to cart and the coupon code was not applied automatically. By default, in order for the referrals to be tracked the coupon would need to be applied. It may not be getting applied for the following reasons:

    – The coupon is not valid for those items in cart.

    – Ensure you have these options enabled in the settings to auto-apply the coupon: https://i.gyazo.com/85db66b48f1f2bb0ca81e8352c00d6e0.png

    – If you want to track referrals and reward commission via the URL even if the coupon code was not applied, then you will need to enable this option: https://i.gyazo.com/b9a41ae213418435daebd882adbac820.png

As an admin you can manually create affiliate coupons for users which will create the coupon, user, and assign them to it: https://couponaffiliates.com/docs/manual-affiliate-registrations/

If you are still having issues, please could you send us a message via this form to take a look into it for you? https://couponaffiliates.com/contact-form/
