• If you open?you will see a custom login screen which (if the correct user name and password are entered) logs in the user and redirects them back to the site’s home page. It has worked fine for years.

Recently I’m getting a popup ‘checking for bot’ message which once completed takes the user to the standard WordPress login screen where I have to start logging in all over again.

My hosting provider thinks this might be a new core WordPress security feature but I can’t find any reference to it on-line.

In any case it is messing up my custom login redirect.

    Can anyone assist?

  • No, such thing is not part of the core. However, I don’t see what you describe when I call up the page – I have tested it in several browsers. Worse still: I notice a JavaScript error caused by an unclean integration of the login form. I’m probably not seeing what you mean.

I would recommend that you deactivate all plugins as a test and then activate them bit by bit until you see the output you saw. Then you should be able to find the culprit plugin.
