• Hello,

I can’t figure out why some, not all, of our visitors are seeing a “Checking Browser” message before they can access our contact page (Contact7 plugin) please see linked image below for message. On top of that – when they click “Continue” it adds /null to the end of the URL – thus throwing a 404.

    The direct link is https://www.youtellmetexas.com/contact-us/
Whe clicking “Continue” we get https://www.youtellmetexas.com/contact-us/null

Once you get that and then the 404 – if you again try the link it works – goes directly to the page. Seems to be cookie related? If I blow out all cookies and try again I get the “checking” message again.

I’ve googled around but not found anything, doesn’t appear to be related to the Contact 7 plugin or any other plugin – I have tried disabling all plugins and it’s still showing. I checked with our hosting folks and they are not doing it – no Cloud Flare or any other similar services. I’m stumped.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I may be wrong but looks like it is coming from your theme.

Have you tried switching to the default theme – the Health check and troubleshooting plugin is good for this as you can switch to test without impacting other users.

Hey thanks, Alan. I’ve tried changing themes and I still get it. It’s the darnest thing. Once you access the page – even without clicking the “Continue” button – it won’t do it again next time you access it … until you delete cookies … then it’s on again. :/

It must have been something with Contact7 Plugin – I replaced it with WPForms and no more message. Odd, tho, that disabling that plugin didn’t stop the message from appearing.
