    Hi,

I am trying to use your plugin to connect with the contact 7 form to mailpoet. I think that I followed your documentation exactly. But on my website the form shows a checkbox without any content beside.

    See at: https://www.saschapult.de/main2

Anyway, I don’t need this checkbox. I would like to make it as easy as possible for my users: insert their email and done. So, I would really appreciate if I could I hide the mailing list that the user subscribes to. There should be only the email field and a submit button.

Any ideas how to implement this?

    Hey Sascha,

Thanks for your input here. This is the first time I’ve seen this request and we definitely want to give the user the ability to opt in / out so we don’t want to include this right now. What I would suggest right now is check the checkbox by default and then hide it with CSS.

If I get more requests for this I’ll certainly consider adding it in.

I second that feature request.. it would be great if there were an option to disable showing that checkbox (without having to edit the css)

    Hi,

The request above was actually the reason for me to download your add-on today. Too bad you don’t provide this option. Why I want this?

Simple. The default Mailpoet plugin for subscribing sucks in CSS terms. I therefore wanted to create my own with CF7 and your add-on. This is however not possible by default.

    Too bad.

Thanks for your input. For right now this still seems pretty niche. I would definitely use CSS to hide the field.

Niche? Maybe, but don’t forget a lot of users are experiencing problems with the Mailpoet plugin. It for example doesn’t allow you to style the placeholder and uses non standards html.

Therefore I’m looking into reconstructing the subscribe plugin with CF 7. So what would be the css to achieve this? Alternatively I could use a function.php code snippet directly plugging into CF7.

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like Contact Form 7 gives us any useful classes to use CSS to hide the field.

Each persons CSS would be very different based on where the field is within the form. To be honest at this point it may be worth using a better form builder like Ninja Forms (free) and the MailPoet add on (premium). NF is a much more configurable plugin with tons of classes to hide these types of things.

Thanks, good to know. To do this without extra costs I’ll then mimic your plugins functionality with a function.php code snippet. Found some via Mailpoets website and Google seaches….
