Checkbox preset to checked and populate in Salesforce

Hi
I have a checkbox that I want to have checked as default on the form so the visitor has to uncheck if they do not want to get a newsletter.
So far the checkbox will only populate in salesforce if the visitor checks the box that is unchecked as default.
