checkbox/opt in for blog/comment page

    Hi

    I have a question concerning the checkbox for the comment/blog page. How can I insert one? Tried with another plug in – wp comment policy checkbox, but then I realised that this is not the default wordpress comment page (template). I even found some php code on the internet, which does help in a way, but only puts in a checkbox yet without a purpose because the message is sent with or without clicking the box. The reason I need the checkbox is because of GDPR regulation.

    Our theme is supporting “WP Comment Policy Checkbox” plugin. So, update your theme version.
    Please activate “WP Comment Policy Checkbox” plugin to get policy checkbox button on the comment page.

    Hello webdzier,
    First, thank you for answering.
    You are right about the plug in – it is supported (when i activate that plug in, in the settings I get the option of linking it to privacy policy in my website), yet when I visit my site that checkbox is not visible, and what is more, although I fill in the message, name and the email address, can’t send it because I get the note that I didn’t accept the privacy policy.
    Do I maybe need to reactivate/reset all the plug ins or anything like that?

    Thank you for providing URL.
    Everything is good. But you are using the old version of the theme. So, “WP Comment Policy Checkbox” plugin is not working.
    You must update your theme version 3.8.5.

    Thanks for your trying to help.
    I updated the theme to 3.8.5 version, yet still no checkbox. Went through the settings to see if there’s something I missed out, but everything looks OK there. As I said, I updated, not reinstalled, as I am not keen on reinstalling, due to negative experience.
    I didn’t change anything so far, in case you decide to keep looking for the solution, but in the end, maybe I could do without the name and email section, just to leave an option for writing a message or comment.

    That’s it now. It’s all there and it’s functional.
    I hope I didn’t get you into too much trouble. That wasn’t my intention.
