    Hi.

Excuse me if this is a repost.

I’ve noticed an issue in Safari (v7.1.2) while using the Checkbox Acceptance field. I’m using this as a part of Registration process. It is marked as required, so the user must check it, in order to successfully register. So far, so great.

As a result, it also shows up in the user’s profile page. So now while editing one’s profile, the user can check/uncheck this checkbox acceptance field while editing the profile.

Chrome and FF throw an error and prevent the user from saving changes to the profile if this acceptance box is no longer checked, which is desired. However in Safari, the user can uncheck the checkbox, and still save the changes to the profile.

Could this be a result of the theme that I’m using. Help in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi,

You’re right. I solve it in version 2.1.1, please update.

Safari is not working with required html5 attribute.

    Hi Donmik,

Thanks for the quick response. I updated to 2.1.2 and am still seeing this issue.

    Thanks!

If the checkbox acceptance is required, when you submit the form, you should see a buddypress error. If you don’t see this error, it’s because you are an admin, and required fields are not required for admins.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, this is happening on a non-admin user, while editing profile. I tried it with the same user in Chrome and FF and worked fine for both browsers, but failed in Safari.

    Thanks for your help.

Can you send me a link to see it? It’s weird because I’ve tried it before uploading this change and it’s working for me.

Sure, is there a way to share this privately? I want to set up a user/password for your testing purposes.
