Hello sblower, you can create a dummy subscriber account to check the features of Mini Membership.

1.If you are using the optional widget, go to your site and click the register link and register with a new email id.

2.Then login as this new user and check how the plugin works.

Hope I answered your question clearly.

I have the same question as sblower did 4 months ago.
Step 5 of your installation instructions states “Check private content as subscriber.” Where do we find the check-box to change this setting (setting the privacy level down to subscriber)? I am using WordPress 4.1 and Version 1.0 of Mini Membership & Mini Membership Widget.

Are you no longer supporting this plugin? I don’t see any resolution of the question above.

I just installed the plugin and entered a dummy subscriber as you suggested and now I’m signed in using the dummy account and I still can’t access private content. I too don’t understand where to go to “check private content as subscriber”. Please advise at your earlier convenience.

    Thank you!

Hello tezander and CP32, I think both of you got it wrong.

When I say “Check private content as subscriber”, it means log in as a subscriber and check if you can read your private content(posts and pages set as private). As far as I know the plugin works just fine, please try again.Check if you activated Mini Membership, or is it only Mini Membership Widget that you activated.

Once you activate Mini Membership plugin, user role subscriber gets private content(posts and pages) read access. If you followed the instructions correctly, it should work fine.

Read the updated instructions…I think now it’s more clear.
