  • Hey there, @paula-finch! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Do you have any custom code on your website?

This is also commonly caused by a conflict.

Can you please run a conflict test to check?

To test, you’ll first want to change the theme on your site to Storefront, then check to see if the issue is still present. If that resolves the issue, you’ll want to get in touch with your theme’s developer and see if they have an update or fix for you.

If changing the theme doesn’t help, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.

    — Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

    — Also, you can consider using a plugin like Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it is helpful to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

    — It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

You can find more about this in this guide.

Please let us know about your findings.

    Have a wonderful day!

I experienced the exact same issue after upgrading to 3.17. Thankfully, I had a backup of a previous version.

I would add, on two different websites I manage, using two different themes. It’s not a theme issue – it’s likely a plugin conflict. If I discover more, I will post here,

    Hello @obrienjc2020,

Thank you for sharing your experience regarding the issue following the upgrade to version 3.17. It’s valuable to know that a plugin conflict might be the cause, given that the problem occurred across two different websites with different themes.

We appreciate your diligence in troubleshooting and your willingness to share your findings. Your contribution to the community is valuable!

If you have further questions, you can create a new thread here.

    Thanks!

    Hi Rajesh,

I deactivated all plugins on the staging site except for Braintree and WooCommerce and the issue persists…no boxes around the checkout credit card fields.

I also removed all the custom code and it didn’t solve the issue.

Thanks for your help with this.

    Hey, @paula-finch!

    Thanks for trying!

Since you mentioned this started happening after updating, can you please roll back to the previous version and see if it works?

You can find older versions to download here.

If you prefer, you can also use a plugin such as WP Rollback to help you with this process. You can find the plugin here.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi Carolm29,

I rolled the plugin back to the older version and it fixed the issue. Thanks.

I had the same issue with the payment box on the woocommerce checkout page since the last Braintree plugin update. It was fixed by rolling back to version 3.1.6. This is a bug. Please fix it as soon as possible, so I can update to the latest version for other bug and security fixes.
