Check if credit card number used before?

    Dear Braintree team,

    I want to offer credit card payment. Will it be possible to provide a functionality (either by Braintree settings OR own coding in functions.php) that checks whether or not a credit card number had already been used before for an order in order to prevent a user to buy a certain product again?

    Hi @michaelwellnerwp,

    A better solution would be to use the email address used on previous orders to determine if a returning customer has already purchased a product.

    I would not recommend you try and identify a returning customer by the credit card data.
