#friend is a bookmark and is used per:

Sorry, yes, there is a anchor link in the content called #friend, ie..

Friends

You want to link to it ‘where’? >> Do you want to search a given post using PHP, find the bookmark, then add a link somewhere out of the post?

I want to display this link..

But only if the post contains within the content a

<a name="Friends"></a>

This is within a single post, I think the page is _single.php

Is this a one time fix for many posts, or an ongoing issue.

If an ongoing issue, just fix the posts or educate your writers to do it that way.

If a one time fix, all posts and pages are kept in the MySQL db and a string replace function can be invoked…I highly suggest a full backup of your db prior to attempting and extreme care in doing so.

There are also plugins that will do this, but apparently there can be field serialization issues when some are used so be careful in their use also.
